ENCORE! Life Enrichment Studio

Community Connection & Enrichment Day

If you are responsible for the care of an aging loved one, you know the many challenges involved and may need a break. Encore! may be the answer for you. OlyCAP's Adult Day Center was established in 1977 to support families by providing services for vulnerable elders in our community. Currently directed by a board-certified music therapist, the program includes daily physical and cognitive exercise, music experiences, stimulating and meaningful activity, a nutritious light lunch and social opportunities in a safe, pleasant, supervised setting.

Participants in the program can live a healthier, happier and more active life and possibly delay or prevent placement in a nursing home. Family caregivers can also receive a respite from their responsibilities. Give yourself a break and enroll someone you know who could benefit from a supervised program focused on the abilities and interests of adults and elders with a functional disability.

Encore! is the recipient of a Clallam County Public Health Hero award, United Way Agency Recognition award and is a member of the Brookdale Foundation National Group Respite Network and the American Music Therapy Association national roster internship program.

Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday from 9 am to 2 pm.

If you know someone who is worried about or struggling with memory loss Encore!’s Arts and Minds can help.

The weekly Brookdale Model program utilizes creative arts as tools for strengthening and maintaining cognitive functioning, optimizing abilities and reducing stress. Involvement in music and arts offers opportunities to focus on creative experiences that stimulate greater parts of the brain, increasing the likelihood of success. Participants can expect to sing, share memories, drum, write songs, read, compose poems, exercise, improvise, move, tell stories, draw, learn to relax and engage in other memory enhancement experiences. Fun, creative, social fitness for the brain.

“At present, there is a gap in supportive services available for people recently diagnosed with early memory loss. This engaging, educational service model allows adults to be productive, involved members of the community and participate in programming that enhances independence.” - Brookdale Foundation.

Schedule an assessment if you have an early diagnosis of or concern with memory loss.

It’s your brain, do something about it!

Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm. Light lunch. Reasonable fee.
