OlyCAP is participating in GiveBIG Washington 2026 — the statewide annual giving day for nonprofits — and it's up to us to make sure our community shows up for the work that matters here.
What is GiveBIG?
GiveBIG is a 48-hour online giving campaign organized by 501 Commons that brings thousands of Washington nonprofits together for a single statewide moment of generosity. Early giving is open now, and the main event runs all day on Tuesday, May 5. Every donation made during this window is part of a wave of community support that funders watch closely.
Why this matters for OlyCAP
For Olympic Community Action Partnership, GiveBIG is more than a single day of fundraising. The number of unique donors we receive on May 5 strengthens our grant applications throughout the year, demonstrates broad community backing, and helps fund the programs that serve our neighbors in Jefferson and Clallam Counties:
- Housing Services — rent assistance, supportive housing, eviction prevention
- Home & Energy Resources — LIHEAP energy assistance and Weatherization
- Senior Services — including the Encore! program for connection and support
- Early Childhood Education — programs that give every kid a strong start
- Youth Services — mentoring, activities, and safe community spaces
- Community Resources — the Tri-Area, Quilcene, and Brinnon Community Centers
A $10 gift counts the same as $1,000 toward that donor count. Being one of the names on the list signals to our funders that this work has community backing.
How you can show up
- Give early. Donate any time between now and May 5. Early gifts set the pace for the whole campaign and inspire others to participate.
- Share with your network. Forward this post, share on social using #GiveBIG and #ItsUpToUs, or add the donation link to your email signature.
- Tell us why you give. Reply with a short "Why I show up for OlyCAP" story or photo — we may feature it during the campaign.
You are the heart of OlyCAP — your voice, your network, your support. Together, let's make GiveBIG truly big this year.
